We Bought A House!!!
The Milton Library Foundation and the Milton Library Trustees are excited to announce that The Foundation has purchased the house at 488 Canton Avenue; the ‘Yellow House’. When the unique opportunity presented itself to expand the Library’s footprint and to open the door to new possibilities, Library leadership worked together to make it happen.
The Yellow House represents the future of Library expansion: expanded programs and events, expanded study spaces and meeting rooms, expanded services for the residents of Milton. Over the next year, members of the Trustees, Foundation, and Friends of the Library will work with Library staff on a strategic plan for the use of the Yellow House. This process will have community involvement, as we ask our users what they want to see in the space. “We are all very excited about the future. We look forward to working with the community to shape a vision for this new Library space,” said Library Director Will Adamczyk. This group will look at how the space can elevate Library services during the next 3-5 years, the next 10 years, and beyond. There are only exciting new opportunities with this new space.
The Foundation purchased the Yellow House from the previous owner. The Foundation is leasing the property to the Library Trustees to be used for Library services. Library Trustee Chair, Jaime Levash said, “The Yellow House represents an exciting opportunity for the Milton Public Library and our community. We are grateful to the Milton Library Foundation for making this purchase possible and look forward to imagining all that this new space can bring to our library and the community we serve.” A small team consisting of members of the Foundation, Trustees, and Library Staff worked together on the negotiations.
